Get Radiant with Burberry

Christmas time is all about sparkle and shimmer. From the Christmas lights, to you outfit. I feel as though if there's anytime to wear a totally over the top sparkly outfit, it is definitely Christmas.

Burberry has a conjured up a couple of products which promise to give a gorgeous glow, and their Fresh Glow Lumionous Fluid Base does just that. It can be used in a couple different ways, all over yout face, prior to applying your foundation, mixed in with your foundation or applied on high points as a highlighter.

My favourite way to apply this is with my fingers, letting it sit for a couple of minutes before applying my foundation. This gives a lit from within look which I adore. Or if I want something more subtle, I will just apply this, again with my fingers, as a highlighter on the tops of my cheekbones, under my brow bone and down the bridge of my nose. This creates a subtle effect which tends lasts all day.

The only downfall of this product is the fact that it can feel slightly drying on the skin when applied before foundation and makes your skin feel a little tight when it dries. To overcome this, I usually just make sure that I have moisturised well before applying this. Other than that, I love this product, I think it is perfect for the festive season, when your skin may be looking a bit dull, it is perfect for giving that glow.

On the other hand, the packaging.. Oh the packaging! It has the iconic Burberry feel and is super luxurious. It does look like you're only getting a small amount of product when the lid is on, as it covers the majority of it but you actually get a generous amount. AND it looks so fancy on my dressing table!

Winter Skincare : A Vitamin C Skin Boost

Now it's no secret that I am in love with all things Body Shop. I have had the Vitamin C Skincare range for a while now, but with the copious amounts of skincare that I actually own, it all kind of got lost in the mess BUT now that the weather has taken a turn for the worse, my skin had become very dull and boring, and was lacking a bit of ooomph. This is where the Vitamin C range comes in. Not only does it all smell yum but it also does wonders for my complexion.

I like to use all three of these products at together, first thing in the morning because I feel as though they just work so well together and I find that they help to wake you up. First up, I use the Vitamin C Facial Cleansing Polish. This is actually the second step in my skincare routine - I use a cleansing oil/butter first to remove all of the residual makeup - The cleansing polish has such fine beads in it, it is amazing to buff away all the dead skin and bits of dirt left on my face (ew). I massage this in all over my face and then rinse it off with cold water. After all of the dirt has been removed and I feel fresh, I like to apply the Vitamin C Skin Reviver all over. This has such an odd consistency, it is like a serum, but a lot thicker than normal serums, and is more like a gel, almost like a primer. If that makes sense. It just smoothes over your skin and makes you feel refreshed. I then apply the Vitamin C Daily Moisturiser. This is such a nice daily moisturiser. It is definitely not rich enough to be used as a night time moisturiser but it works nicely for the day time. This just makes your skin feel nice and plump, and also makes you look and feel more awake. The best thing about these three products is the smell. It has an orangey-citrus fragrance, which I thought I would get fed up of as time went on, BUT I still absolutely adore it. I think that it is very refreshing and clean.

Overall, I really do like these three products and I honestly do feel as though my skin and general complexion looks a lot brighter since using them. I would definitely recommend them to everyone, although I have heard that it can cause irritation if you have super sensitive skin!

Lifesaver: Nuxe Reve de Miel Lipbalm

Even though I have a full drawer of lip balms, I keep going back to this one. It's the Nuxe Reve de Miel lip balm. It is ultra-nourishing and is packed full of oils which are to hydrate, smooth and protect the lips. It is not like other lip balms, it has a gritty texture and is very thick and luxurious. It has a matte finish, so is perfect to apply before any lipstick. I also like to apply this over a matte lipstick throughout the day is it gets a little dry. It also lasts a couple of hours on the lips so there's no need to keep applying it. This has literally saved my lips recently, with the cold weather and chapped lips.

It is definitely one to get your hands on! They also have it in the bullet too which I like to keep in my bag for when i'm on the go.

What's On My Face #2

 

Last week I posted these pictures showing off my newly coloured hair, so I thought I would show you what make up I was wearing. 

I began with the Smashbox Photo Finish Primer. This stuff is incredible. It smoothes over your skin, hiding any pores, and it is so light, you don't notice it’s on. I used the Benefit Erase Paste next, to conceal any blemishes. I apply this with my finger and just dab it anywhere that needs it, including under my eyes. I then used the Nars Creamy Concealer in the shade caramel on any other areas. I find that these two conceals work well together as I find the erase paste can be slightly orange, so the Nars conceal kind of counteracts that. I foundation of choice for when I'm having pictures taken is the MAC Studio Fix Fluid in NC40. I apply this all over with the Real Techniques Buffing Brush. Blending in the concealers as well. 

For my eyebrows I used the shades Cork and Carbon from MAC, with an angled brush. I decided to keep the eye shadow natural because I was going to put eyelashes on, and a dark lip as well so I didn't want to be OTT. From the quad, I used the lightest shade all over the lid (I can't remember the colour) and then Woodwinked in the outer corners and in the crease, to warm it up. I used that under my eye too along with a bit of Humid as well. The eyelashes I wore were actually from eBay! I got 9 pairs for £1.99! Bargain! They are not too full, but definitely make an impact. For my bottom lashes, I used the Miss Sporty Plump Up Booster mascara. I would never have thought to buy this, until someone came into work with the most insane eyelashes, this is what she used so I had to go any buy it. It separates and lengthens the lashes without clumping, and it doesn't transfer either! 

On my Cheeks I used the NYC Big Bronzer, this is amazing for just adding a little bit of depth and dimension to your face when you've done a heavy coverage base. The blusher I used was Breezy by MAC. I then highlighted with Carefree from MAC. I put this on the tops of my cheekbones, down the centre of my nose, on my brow bone, and also on the centre of my lips. 

For my lips I used the MAC lip liner in Fashion Toast and then the Topshop lipstick in Beguiled. I love this combination for the Autumn/Winter.

Christmas ASOS Wishlist

I LOVE shopping on ASOS. It's literally the best thing ever when you're looking for a little bit of fashion inspiration. I can't even tell you how much time I spent on ASOS whilst at uni when I should have been working, not to mention the fact that the majority of my student loan was spent on there too! Oops! They stock anything you would ever need or what, including their own branded stuff aswell as high end brands too, and is also reasonably priced. But the best thing was the free delievery and free returns! AMAZING!
