Mother's Day 2015

Happy Mother's Day! This year, we decided to go for afternoon tea at a cute little chocolateir called Cocoa Cabana, where we had lots of brownies, macaroons, scones and tea, I literally had like 5 cups omg. My favourite was the salted caramel sauces on the scones hmmmmmm I think I'm addicted to all things salted caramel. AMAZING!

I hope you all had a fab Mother's Day celebrating!

KIKO: Universal Fit Hydrating Foundation

I visited KIKO for the first time ever last week and I walked out a very happy girly! One of the things I picked up was the Universal Fit Hydrating Foundation.
It comes in 20 different shades and is split up into different categories - I think these are cool, warm and neutrals but it was super confusing - I went for 08 Neutral Beige which is the perfect match for me (I am a NC40 in MAC).

It is a medium to high coverage foundation and is buildable to achieve the coverage that you want. What I love about this foundation is the fact that is so blendable, unlike a lot of the other foundations which I have which tend to just sit on top of the skin.  Even though it is a pretty high coverage foundation, it does let your natural skin show through and kind of meshes with the skin and creates such a flawless, dewey, natural looking finish. AND as it is hydrating, it doesn't cling to any dry spots and sinks into the skin quickly like a lighter foundation.

I have totally fallen in love with this foundation, and what makes it even better is the fact that it is only £6.90 and comes in a super convenient travel friendly tube, so you can pop it into your bag when on the go!

The only negative I have is the fact that my closest KIKO store is in Leeds, and I like to swatch things before I buy them!

So if you are passing a KIKO store, I would recommend popping in and swatching a few things and getting your colour matched, and then buying online, they allllways have discount codes available!

Flamingo Candles

Anyone who has ever met me will know that I am a sucker for sweet smelling candles, my collection just keeps growing and growing but I can't help it! Flamingo Candles is one of my favourite candles brands, they are hand-poured in the UK and use natural soy wax. AND they are pretty affordable too! Not only do they come in some delicious scents, but the packaging is adorable! There's just something about the acrylic flamingo and glass jar combo that is just so quirky and makes such a fun and contemporary addition to my coffee table/fireplace.

The two I have been burning the most recently are 'Cheesecake Crunch' and 'Thai Lime and Mango'.

Cheesecake Crunch is a super sweet smelling candle with hints of sugar, cinnamon and caramel. It literally smells like cheesecake! Thai Lime and Mango is the total opposite, it is so refreshing and uplifting, you can definitely smell the zest, along with undertones of pineapples and melon, along with juicy mangos! NOM!

Have you ever tried any Flamingo Candles? What do you think about the packaging?

#ManiMonday

Recently, I have been leaning more towards the nude/grey/beige colours, I'm trying to be mature okay! But then I saw that my cousin had painted her nails in a cobalt blue and I just couldn't help but copy her! I went for this Barry M Gelly in the shade Damson. It is the most beautiful true cobolt blue and it is literally one of my favourite colours. I loooove how it compliments my skin tone and stands out. And you can't fault the formula of the Gelly polishes from Barry M either., this was pretty much opaque with just one coat although I went for two, without being thick or gloopy and is pretty long lasting too. But best of all is the finish, as the name suggests, it does have a gel finish, I decided not to apply a top coat this time because I wanted to see how the colour lasts (as I find that sometimes bright colours fade when I apply a top coat) and so far so good!
