Favourite MAC Lipsticks

From not owning any lipsticks 2 years ago, it is safe to say that I have become somewhat obsessed with them, to the point where I no longer have space for anymore! So today I thought I would share my favourite MAC lipsticks.

First up there is Russian Red. This is a beautiful blue-toned red lipstick. This is my go-to when I’m going for a classic red lip. The thing I love most about this the fact that it has a matte finish, which means that it lasts a super long time on my lips and leaves a nice creamy finish. It is a dream to apply, and is so easy to create a precise lip shape straight from the bullet. Although it is matte, it is not drying at all and doesn’t cling to dry areas either so it is perfect!

Up The Amp is described as a ‘lavender violet’ on the MAC website and this is the perfect description for it. It is an amazing blue-toned purple colour, but is quite milky as well. On my lips, it gives a lilac hue. I usually reach for this one when I’m not feeling a bold lip but want something a little bit different and edgy.  It has an ‘amplified’ finish so it glides on smooth and gives a creamy finish. The best thing about this is that the colour is buildable, so you can decide on the intensity of the colour depending on the occasion.

If I’m feeling a bold lip that’s a little bit different, I will reach for this amazing bright fuchsia colour. It is quite a reddish fuchsia so it makes your skin look all warm and glowy :) It is in the Retro Matte Finish Collection so much more matte than Russian Red. The colour payoff is insane! And it lasts for hours, although I find it can be slightly drying on my lips after a couple of hours but nothing a little bit of lip balm can’t fix!

And finally, the nude lipstick for the girls that don’t do nude; Mehr! It is a neutral pinky, mauve colour with blue undertones. It has a matte finish and the colour is quite opaque. The formula is very creamy and glides on effortlessly. The staying power for this is average, it usually lasts around 2-3 hours (if I haven’t eaten anything) and does transfer quite easily. This is my usual everyday lipstick, as it is so subtle but makes a huuuuge difference to my face.

What are you favourite lipsticks?

Empties #1

Recently, I’ve finished a couple of my favourite beauty products so I thought I would share them with you :)

Firstly, the La Roche Posay Hydreane Riche Moisturiser. This is the most luxurious moisturiser I have ever used. It is expensive for the amount that you get, BUT this has lasted me aaaaaages! You honestly need the tiniest amount and it makes your skin feel super soft and supple. I have pretty dry skin and this helps to keep it nice and moisturised. I liked to use this in the evenings when I get ready for bed a couple times a week. I am definitely going to repurchase this again (maybe once I’ve finished all of my other moisturisers)

Keeping on the moisture front, The Butter Yourself Five Fruits Super Rich Soothing Body Cream from Soap & Glory has been my favourite body butter for like the past year... It has a whipped consistency and makes your skin feel velvety soft as well. And the smell! Oooooft! The smell is so fruity and yum and it lingers for a while too :) I actually mentioned this in another one of my blog posts a while ago here.

I bought The Lush BIG Sea Salt Shampoo because my hair was lacking that something, and it was super flat and boring. I started up using this once a week but it was really drying on my hair so I stuck to every other week. You know when you’re on holiday and you’re hair has that beach babe wave and the perfect amount of texture? This shampoo gives you just that. AMAZING! Whenever I would use this shampoo, I would also use a hair mask to give a little bit more moisture to my ends.

I’m cheating a little bit with The Lush Eau Roma Toner Water. I only got this recently but when I took in on holiday with me, it leaked everywhere and it left me with the tiniest amount left at the bottomL. This toner water smells like lavender, it is super calming and soothing on the skin too. I like to use this after cleansing to give my skin a little bit of a pick me up. I am definitely going to get another one of these, but I might try a different scent next time!

Wow, another moisturiser! The Body Shop’s Vitamin E Nourishing Night Cream is one that I already have repurchased. This has to be one of my favourites. I use this nearly every night and it is so moisturising and is perfect for those with dry skin like me!

The Origins Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask is perfect for those day’s spent in air conditioning when your skin feels super dry and damaged. I layer this on before bed and wake up to beautifully nourished skin. I think that this has also helped to rid my skin of any nasty spots and has also evened out my skin tone slightly as well!

3 Ingredient Nutella Brownies

You've probably heard of this recipe before, there's so many different variations, but essentially, they're all the same. These brownies taste like nutella (obviously), are perfectly gooey, and take like 3 minutes to make! What more could you ask for?!

Ingredients:

400g (one jar) of Nutella
2 Eggs
100g Plain Flour.

Method:

1. Dump all of the ingredients into a bowl and mix until there are no lumps left.
2. Put this mixture into a greased pan (we used a casserole dish because we didn't have anything else).
3. Pop it into the oven at 180°C for 25 minutes.

...and enjoy!

We sprinkled them with icing sugar and topped with stawberries! PERFECT!

Spring Beauty Wish List

9. ORIGINS GINZING EYE CREAM

So these are all the beauty bits that I have on my wish list for this spring. Make up wise, I will be going more natural with a lighter base (1) and will be opting for peachy tones cheeks and lips (4 and 8). My skin hasn’t been the best recently and thus I think I should probably cleanse and exfoliate more so the Clarisonic would be perfect! (2). This REN mask (3) has been raved about for so long and I am intrigued to see how it works for me. Seeing as I am obsessed with nail polish, it's no surprise that I’ve added some onto here, I chose the L’Oreal colour riche nail polishes because they have a nice brush and these colours (5, 6 and 7) look super fun. I have heard so much about the Origins GinZing eye cream and how it is perfect for those with puffy eyes (ME! haha)
