Topshop Nail Varnish

Topshop Nail Varnish £5 each or 2 for £8
It’s now the last couple of weeks of uni before summer, and you all know what that means… EXAMS! I’ve been so stressed with revision and assignments and so unfortunately, my blogging has had to take a back seat recently, BUT I've managed to find a couple of minutes free during the day to write a quick blog post :) yay!

Nail varnishes have become my go to product during my breaks from revision, and recently, these Topshop ones have come to my rescue!

Topshop’s nail varnishes have surfaced lately for me and I have become totally obsessed with them. I really like the formula of them, they just seem to glide on perfectly, and have a lovely wet look, glossy finish. The thing I like most about them is the fact that they are quite fast drying. This is perfect for me because I always tend to smudge my nails, when I think they’re dry, but they’re really not, and they’re all so pigmented and opaque, so you could really get away with only one coat if u wanted. They also last for a really long time (like 3-4 days) as well which is just so good for exam season when you have no time for anything.

These three have to be my favourite so far, one for every occasion and mood. The one on the left is ‘AWOL’. It is this beautiful blue which I haven’t actually seen before, it is quite bright and stands out, and is just amazing! This is quickly becoming one of my favourite colours from my whole nail varnish collection! One of the best things about this colour is the fact that it works so well all year round.

The one in the middle is ‘Pillar Box’. It is this gorgeous bright red. I only purchased this one as my other red, which was ‘Russian Roulette’ by Essie, was running out, so I decided to branch out and try the Topshop one out. I was not disappointed! If anything I love it just as much, if not more than the Essie one. It is so pretty, and just looks so classy and sophisticated.

And lastly, on the right, is ‘Palmer Violet’. This isn’t the usual kind of colour I go for, but decided to be a little different and go outside of my comfort zone. It is such a cute lilac colour. It is just so ideal for the warmer months. The main thing I like about this colour is the fact that it is so subtle and it just looks so delicate.

So overall, I am totally in love with these nail varnishes. So easy to apply, have an amazing finish, have good lasting power and are very inexpensive. I would definitely recommend these to anyone!

Rimmel London BB cream

This is quite possibly the best BB cream I have ever tried. Seriously, I have tried a couple of different ones but this is the one that I have decided to repurchase.

When I first stumbled upon it, I didn't really get the point in BB creams, but now I can't live without it! It is the one product that I have to use everyday.

I got this BB cream in the shade 'medium' obviously with a warm skin tone, this is the one that suited my skin most. Although, when I first swatched it on my hand, it did seem a little light but I got it anyway!

When applied to the face, it sinks in beautifully! I tend to put it on using the real techniques buffing brush, but it works just as well if applied with fingers, as I like the way that it settles in and make it look very natural and dewey and just gives u a nice glow..

I tend to get little blemishes on my skin here and there and I also have quite a bit of redness around the middle of my face. U just use the smallest amount, on the back if my hand and then applied to my face, and I find that this covers it all up amazingly and gives the appearance of an even skin tone.

I then go on to put a bit of blusher on over the top, just to give a bit of colour, but you really don't need to. It just creates a really nice base for the rest of your make up as well, it does say on the back that it primes your skin, so it decreases the appearance of pores and make it look smooth for your foundation to be applied on top.

I like to use it on an empty face, and by that I mean with nothing on it. As in not even any moisturiser as I find that it gives enough moisture, and if I do moisturise before, it tends to look really greasy and oily, which is definitely not the best look!

I definitely recommend this product to everyone and anyone! It's perfect for everyday, whether you're having a chill day, shopping, or going out. Amazing! And at £6.99 a pop, you can't really go wrong!

La Roche Posay

So I recently popped into boots as they have currently got the 3 for 2 offer on. Should have known this was a bad idea from the beginning! I ended up buying a new cleanser, toner and moisturiser.

To be honest, I really did need them in my life because prior to this, I usually just went to bed without removing my make up and woke up to my pillow being covered in black eyeliner!  On the evenings when I wasn't feeling as lazy,  I would use the Simple purifying cleansing lotion, and the Simple soothing facial toner. Now don't get me wrong, there was actually nothing with these products, they did exactly what it says on the bottle, BUT I felt like I could get more from my skin. I am very lucky in the sense that I only get the occasional spot, here and there and a bit of redness on my cheeks, but other than that, my skin was fine. And usually, on a daily basis, I wouldn't even wear much make up either, with just a bit of BB cream to cover up blemishes and some eyeliner.

But then, I noticed that I started to get more redness, and my skin tone became more and more uneven. I also noticed a few more spots popping up, when I wouldn't usually have any. Maybe my skin got a little too used to the products I was using, so I decided to mix it up a little.

So I bought the Physiological Cleansing Milk, the Soothing Toner and as I have quite dry skin, I also got the Hydreane Riche Moisturising Cream.

When in Boots, I did try to have a little sniff of the products and I noticed that they didn't have a scent. This kind of pushed me even more to purchase them because I feel like if a skincare product is strongly scented then obviously they have added stuff into it. Although, when using them for the first time, I did notice a subtle hint of a scent from the cleansing milk and moisturiser especially, not so much the toner. It was slightly sweet and a little bit musky, kind of hard to describe, but I didnt mind this as it still felt clean and fresh when applied.

So after just a week of building these products into my skincare routine,  I noticed a massive difference in my skin and even got some compliments on it, even though I hadn't been using it that long.

So I have given it a couple of months now and my skin had just improved massively.  All of my spots are gone and the redness has evened out. As my skin was dry, I began by using the Hydreane moisturiser atleast twice a day and this made a huge improvement, my skin looked glowy and the dry patches disappeared. I feel like I definitely made the right choice in purchasing these products and would recommend them to anyone!

La Roche Posay definitely get a massive thumbs up from me!

MUA Lipstick

So I have recently purchased a few products from Superdrug's own make up brand, MUA. And I have to say that I am pleasantly surprised the quality of the products. With them all being just £1 each, you can't really go wrong!

I started off with the lipsticks, now I only started wearing lipstick a couple of months ago, but since then, I have become slightly obsessed!  I now have like 13 lipsticks, which I know is a bit excessive considering the time frame in which these were purchased. BUT, the price of these little sticks was just too hard to resist!

When I first got to the MUA stand, I was disapointed with the fact that the lipsticks were riiiiiight at the bottom, so I was pretty much sat on the floor looking at them, which was not the most comfortable! I also noticed the lack of testers, which usually would have put me off buying any of the products, but I still went ahead with it!

I picked up two of the many shades that they had on offer and I have to say, that overall, I am really pleased with the lipsticks, they are very nourishing and moisturising and are very pigmented. This came as a shock to me, as I was expecting very little colour to come up when applied, BUT, they glide on very smoothly and feel nice when on as well. They are also unscented, I don't really mind this as I am not really a fan of strong scents.

The first one I picked up is pictured above, it is 'shade 2'. I must have spent around 2 minutes looking for a cute and pretty name for this, but turns out MUA don't name their lipsticks, which was also rather disappointing. Shade 2 has a dark pinky tone with a slight shimmer to it. I'm not that much of a fan of the shimmering,  but I can imagine it looking really pretty on someone else. Again it is really pigmented and the colour is very deep and rich. I think I am going to try and wear this again soon, because even though it was cheap, I feek like its a waste if I don't wear it, so I will probably end up mixing a couple of different lipsticks together or just dabbing this one on top of another one to give my lips a little more depth.

This is the second one I found, it was 'shade 11'. This one is my favourite of the two, it is a lot lighter than the previous, and is definitely more wearable for me. Its really hard to describe, but its a little bit nude but with some pinky undertones. When I put it on, it just gives a nice 'finished' look, its not obvious that you're wearing lipstick but it just totally changes the look of your face and just makes you look really refreshed and awake and glowy! I like to wear this on a casual day, when I'm not really doing anything.  Again, very moisturising like the previous, So yeah, definitely love that one!

I think I will definitely be picking up a couple more of these lipsticks,  and will probably have a look at some of the other products they have. But so far, MUA gets a big fat thumbs up from me, and I would recommend them to anyone!

Oh hello there!

Welcome to my blog! My name is Divya,  I am a 20 year old (ew) full-time student, studying at university, and my all time favourite thing to do, along with the majority of other girls, is shop!

I've wanted to start a blog for so long now, but have just never got round to it. It all began two and a bit years ago, when I became obsessed with YouTube. I would watch mostly beauty related videos, obviously, me being a girl, this really appealed to me. So over time, my list of subscriptions grew and I also started to read the blogs of the people I watched..

This is where we are now! Recently, I decided to make a youtube channel with my friend,  in attempt to be like many of the youtubers out there. That obviously didn't work out. I just think that we're not yet camera ready, so for now i'm just going to stick to blogging. You never know, if this works out, you might just see me on youtube in the future :)

Like I said before, I am interested in trying, testing and reviewing beauty products, so you can probably guess that that is what I am going to be blogging about mostly, but, I will also talk about other stuff like fashion and then various things that I think you'd all like to read about.. AND as an added bonus, I am going to be focusing on affordable products, what with me beimg a student, my student loan will only stretch so far!

So, heeeeere we are! We're coming to the end of my first ever blog! Scary stuff! I very much hope that you all enjoy reading it! I will try to keep it as fun and interesting as possible. :)

Ciao for now!
