Feb '15 Wish List

I literally have an obsession with phone cases and pineapples, so when I saw this one here, I immediately added it onto my list of things to buy! The REN Glycolactic Renewal Mask has been on a previous wish list of mine, and I still do not have it! haha I kind of forgot about it for a while and then it started popping up again everywhere, but I will probably get my hands on this soon! Look at these loafers! They are New Look, but on ASOS, I'm too lazy to go into the actual shop. They would be perfect for everyday wear as they are pretty inexpensive so I wouldn't be too bothered if they got scuffed. I have heard so much about this Louise Young Super Foundation Brush, and I can't wait to have a play with it. I loooove EOS lip balms, and I really want to try out some of the other flavours, so next on my wish list is the EOS strawberry sorbet lip balm. I have never tried any Kevyn Aucoin lip products and I am after a general everyday your lips but better shade and I have found this one in the shade Evermore. This will probably be in my possession soon so I will keep you updated! The Living Proof Instant Texture Mist is on here because my hair is seriously lacking some ooomph. The style has grown out now and it is feeling limp, and I have heard such good things about this one! There is just something about crisp, white shirts and this one fits the spec perfectly. Perfect for everyday, evenings out and even work, and I love the look of this one from ASOS. I have never been someone who has loads of blushers, I tend to stick to three which I just alternate, but then I saw this palette from Makeup Revolution and I fell in love. I like the marbled blushers, and the fact that you get a mix of bronze and pink, along with a contour shade as well. AND, all for £6. And finally, this white across body bag from ASOS is the perfect size for everyday and general errands etc. and it looks so sophisticated and classy. I feel as though it would look cool dressed up and down.

What are you lusting over?

A Touch of Silver

Yessss I know I'm not blonde, BUT this shampoo and conditioner combo is the best I've used in a loooong time! AND, I got it for free - so I would be stupid not to use it! It is purple, so it was weird putting it on my hair, but after you get over that, it is fabulous! It leaves my hair feeling so soft and clean, and it smells delicious! Just what it needed, after feeling so limp, dry and lacklustre for such a long time. - Maybe I just needed to try a new shampoo and conditioner, I don't know, but this does the job anyway so I'm happy! Another thing I love about this combo is the fact that my colour doesn't fade when I use this. Since I dyed my hair, (here) it has been fading loooads every time I wash it with a normal shampoo and conditioner, but not with this one!

Have you ever tried anything from the Touch of Silver range?

Spicy Falafel and Roasted Veg Wraps

Falafel has to be one of my favourites! You can literally eat them with anything, in a wrap, a burger or pitta bread, but it can get very expensive buying them all the time. I usually go for the Cauldrons ones.  So I decided to try to make them, and it was surprisingly easy and they turned out to be tasty too! I put them in a wrap, along with roasted peppers and onions, drizzled with salsa and cottage cheese and chilli.

You will need:

For the falafel:
  • 400g can chickpeas, washed and drained
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 Garlic clove, crushed
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1tsp ground coriander
  • 1⁄2 tsp harissa paste or chilli powder
  • 2 tbsp. sunflower or vegetable oil
  • 1 handful of parsley, chopped
  • 2 tbsp. plain flour

For the sides:

  • 2 mixed colour peppers
  • 4 spring onions
  • 1 tbsp. chilli sauce
  • 250g cottage cheese
  • 1 large handful mixed ripe tomatoes
  • 1 fresh red chilli
  • 1/2 clove of garlic
  • 1 lime

Grab all the ingredients for the falafel and stick them into a food processor, and blitz until smooth. Scrape the mixture out, using clean, wet hands and mould into small balls around 1.5 inches, and fry until they're nice and brown.

For the sides, I made a roasted veg salad by ripping the seeds and stalks out of the peppers and cut into bite size chunks and cut up the spring onions too. Pop these onto a griddle pan along with some salt and pepper, and any other spices you wish, turning when charred.

For the salsa, put the tomatoes, chilli, garlic and lime juice into the processor and mix until you're happy with the consistency, I like it when there's chunks in there. And then mix the cottage cheese and the chilli sauce in a serving dish.

Next all you need to do it warm up the tortillas in the microwave or in the grill, squeeze some lemon juice over the veg and serve! I also decided to scatter a load of coriander all over the place as well.

Enjoy!

#ManiMonday

This week, I have painted my nails in one of the colours from my Ciate advent calendar. It is a beautiful glossy grey called Sharp Tailoring. I loooove this colour, I'm not usually one for a muted colour but there's just something about this one that makes in irresistible, maybe it's the slight silver shimmer? I don't know but I'm not complaining!

First, I used the Sally Hansen cuticle massage cream - which smells delicious btw - I haven't been using this for long, but so far I love it! I then trimmed and pushed my cuticles back to make my nails super clean and neat.

Like every other time, I finished my nails with the Essie Good to Go fast drying topcoat which is perfect for me as I am so impatient when waiting for my nails to dry, and it leaves them with a super glossy finish.

What is your everyday go to nail?
